πΒ JIBMASS Official LaunchΒ π¬π
Weβre thrilled to officially launch our first Digital Resources Center in West Africa at JIBMASS, Ghana π¬π!
Jim Bourton Memorial Agricultural Senior High School, located in the Volta region, now hosts a modern digital hub packed with computing resources to equip learners with the skills they need for todayβs world of work.
The launch was a true community effort bringing together the school leadership, Ghana Education Service, teachers, parents, and students. π
Peer-to-Peer Vibes with Mastercard Scholars
What a vibe! For 3 months, over 20 Mastercard Foundation Scholars from USIU-Africa immersed themselves in our Peer-to-Peer Program.
They prepared digital training materials, virtually trained students across Africa, revamped our curriculum, and engaged in community outreach, all while showing professionalism, passion, and purpose.
A heartfelt thank-you to the USIU-Africa community and Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program leadership for championing young changemakers.
World International Teachersβ Ghana
At Word International School in Zuarungu, Upper East Ghana, weβve wrapped up an exciting teacher training program. Through Angazaβs Train-the-Trainer program, teachers gained hands-on digital skills to make learning more interactive, collaborative, and fun.
The new Digital Learning Resource Center, created in partnership with ASON International, is equipped with computers, internet, and remote learning tools, empowering both students and the Zuarungu community for academic and economic growth.
A big shoutout to the teachers, school administration, and partners who made this dream a reality! π»β¨
π€Β Spotlight on Journei Ferguson
This summer, we had the joy of hosting Journei, an Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar, at Angaza Center!
From day one, Journei dove into our mission of bridging the digital divide in rural African schools. Together, we traveled to schools where ICT labs are transforming classrooms, equipping teachers and learners with laptops, training, and digital resources. Journei got to hear firsthand how access to technology is opening doors to confidence, opportunity, and brighter futures.
Beyond the work, Journei also immersed herself in Kenyaβs beauty from the peaceful plains of the Masai Mara, Giraffe Center to a brief adventure across the border into Tanzania.
Weβre deeply grateful to Journei for her energy, passion, and warmth. To us, she wasnβt just an intern, she became part of the Angaza family. π
Asante sana, Journei, for walking this journey with us. We canβt wait to see where your path leads next! β¨
Summer Internship ProgramΒ π‘
Our 2025 Summer Internship Program for U.S. high school students came to a close after two and a half transformative months.
From refurbishing devices for shipment to rural schools, to creating training content, to building an inventory system, our interns brought creativity, teamwork, and compassion to the mission.
Their work made a real impact for rural African schools, and Fridayβs recognition ceremony was the perfect celebration of their journey.
